Cultural Compromise for Survival in Organisational Settings

A case study of communication between local managers and employees with diverse cultural backgrounds at a workplace in Sweden. D-uppsats vid Mittuniversitetets medieutbildning av Solange Barros de Alcântara Hamrin

The purpose of this study was to describe and analyse the communication between a local manager and a workgroup comprised of members with different cultural backgrounds in the workplace.
My purpose is to give answers to the follow three research questions: 1) do cultural dissimilarities seem to matter in communication between Swedish (native) managers and non-Swedish subordinates?, 2) how do managers perceive communication with employees?, and 3) how do employees perceive communication between them and their manager in the workplace? All the
questions are based on the participants' perception of how communication happens between employees and manager. Moreover, I was also looking at how the cultural differences impact communication.
